June 14, 2023, marked the start of an incredible learning opportunity for the Village of Canal Flats leadership team.
Sjac Pronk, Mathieu Fournier, Sylvie Hoobanoff, Zacc Farrell, Annette Robinson and Ashley Nielsen are all participating in the three-part leadership program that was started off with a lesson on leading self.
Future lessons will be focused on leading teams and business. This includes strengthening working styles and applying effective communication techniques for clarity, impact, and influence.
“Strengthening our leadership team and skills is necessary to deliver on the VoCF strategic plan” says, CAO Richard Wayken. “My personal goal, supported by council, is to build competencies in our team. Over the next few months each leader will take the helm with delegate authority as CAO. This is a critical step in succession planning for the village and will give each member perspective from this top roll, says Wayken. This really puts Canal Flats in a unique position to have a team of capable leaders to move our community forward.”
The impacts of the leadership training will positively impact every staff member with the goal of becoming a best in class organization.
