At the Feb. 13 regular council meeting the Village of Canal Flats council unanimously adopted a strategic plan.
The plan, which outlines three key priorities and goals and tasks within them, was developed to outline specific steps being taken towards the implementation of the community’s Official Community Plan.
Priorities in the plan include a climate action strategy, resident retention and attraction and business attraction. An overview can be viewed here.
On Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. the village will host a public information session at the Canal Flats Civic Centre. After a presentation on the plan including each priority and examples of projects under the priority, council will be available for questions from residents.
Council and village staff are excited for the plan to help guide work and provide specific, measurable goals for work to improve the community in a sustainable way.
